A documentary about extrajudicial killing of the elders accused of witchcraft among the Mijikenda people of coastal Kenya. In Kilifi County, elders suspected of practicing witchcraft are systematically murdered by groups of young people who see the older generations as a stigma that threatens their emancipation. Frustrated by the inadequacies of the Kenyan legal system, the community is seeking out customary solutions in an attempt to stop these tragedies occurring. In the inland villages where ancient practices are still performed, traditional healers enact elaborate rituals to combat the dark forces upsetting their community. The film is a surprising journey into the world of the Mijikenda people where magical and reality, spirit and body, the afterlife and the living coexist on the same plan.
